Kansas City Chiefs captains sport classy suits in NFL Playoffs

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs showcased their elegant suits in a photoshoot highlighting the team’s captains for the 2024 playoffs. Alongside them, the Chiefs appointed four other players from various positions as captains, including cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, defensive tackle Chris Jones, kicker Harrison Butker, and punter Tommy Townsend. Kelce recently discussed the honor of being named a captain as they entered the postseason with hopes of securing their second consecutive title.

Kelce explained Coach Andy Reid’s unique approach to selecting captains, emphasizing that throughout the year, the team has multiple captains, with changes every game day. However, when it comes to the playoffs, players vote to determine the captains, recognizing those who emerged as leaders throughout the entire season.

During the photoshoot, the quarterback, Mahomes, wore an ash grey suit over a white shirt and black tie, featuring tapered matching pants and black dress shoes. Kelce, the star tight end, opted for a double-breasted light grey suit with small black and white stripes, paired with a white dress shirt, black tie, and athletic black and grey Nikes.

As reigning champions, the Chiefs completed the first step in their title defense by defeating the Miami Dolphins in the wildcard round with a 26-7 victory. This secured their spot in a divisional playoff match against the Bills on Sunday. The Bills advanced by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-17, in the wildcard round. Despite a 6-1 start to the season, the Chiefs struggled to string consecutive wins until their last two games, finishing with an 11-6 record atop the AFC West. Mahomes aims to lead the Chiefs to victory in his first road playoff game (excluding Super Bowls), and the kickoff against the Buffalo Bills is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET on Sunday.
